Event Information
Dallas Stars gave NHL fans a great season last year and the way things are looking it may be even better this year. The Stars finished at 53-23, a record good enough to put them in the top spot of the Pacific Division and send the Stars into the Conference Quarterfinals against the Colorado Avalanche. Unfortunately for Dallas Stars fans, the Avalanche dumped the Stars with a 4-1 series victory and sent them home to lick their wounds for another series.
But Stars ticket holders won’t have to worry about a meltdown in 2006-2007. The Dallas Stars should be even more solid with the addition of Eric Lindros. Before coming to the Dallas Stars Lindros has seen his share of success on the ice. A former #1 draft pick, Lindros has reached All Star status six times in his career and was named NHL MVP once. But Lindros is not the only player the Stars have added to their roster. Faced with the loss of Jason Arnott and Bill Guerin, along with defenseman Willie Mitchell, the Star did what every good team does: They re-stocked their shelf with quality players.
Right wing Mathew Barnaby comes in from the Chicago Blackhawks. Last year in the windy city Barnaby had 8 goals and 20 assists. Along with center Jeff Halpern, and defenseman Darryl Sador and Jaroslav Modry, Lindros should help round out a squad that already includes one of the leagues better goalies in Marty Turco and proven players like Jere Lehtinen and Mike Modano. The new additions are sparking renewed interest in Dallas Stars already as fans prepare for another shot at the Stanley Cup.
