Event Information
Fairly new to the league, Nashville Predators tickets are a growing commodity for hockey fans. Even with a somewhat slow start, the team has managed to claw their way up in standings, taking a fourth place finish in the Western Conference last year. Established in 1998, the Predators are led by head coach Barry Trotz, who has been with the team since they got their start in the NHL.
Not making it far with their first season, the Predators saw a new glimmer of hope with her 1999-2000 season. An eight game winning streak, something difficult to accomplish in the NHL, gave fans new hope for the team. However, the triumph was short lived and the team was unable to clinch a playoff spot that year. When the 2003-04 season rolled around, the Predators made their first trip to the playoffs. An eighth seeded team in the Western Conference and a franchise record of 91 points, the team was set up to face the heavily favored Detroit Red Wings in their first round. Although they were finally brought down after six games, the Predators did prove themselves by taking out the Red Wings in their first two home games, which is more than anyone believed they could. Then, in the 2005-06 season, the Predators set an NHL record when they won their first four games by one point each. That season, they also became only the fourth franchise to start the season 8-0. At the end of the regular season, the Predators had 106 points, the best NHL record at home and had received home ice advantage for their first playoff round. However their victory would be short lived. Taken down by the San Jose Sharks, the Predators exited the playoffs just in the first round after five games.
In the off-season, management has made moves for a better team. However, some are being questioned by fans, such as the trading of favorite Scott Walker, who went to the Carolina Hurricanes in return for Josef Vasicek. The trade came as a surprise seeing as how Walker was the franchise’s leading scorer. Also gone this season is another fan favorite, Adam Hall. By sending Hall to the New York Rangers, the Predators picked up Dominic Moore. Moore was then immediately traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a third round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
