Vancouver Canucks Team Info

Canucks seats are the once again available for upcoming season.  With that begins the renewed hopes of a team and its fans that have come to expect not only hard tenacious play from its players, but the rewards that come with that.  Vancouver is a city of die hard hockey fans and are so for a team that has yet to reach the pinnacle of NHL success in a Stanley Cup victory.  The team is a constant threat to do so however and that may be the bait that lures thousands to the games.  The Canucks have made the playoffs 11 of the last 15 seasons and has come as close as possible to hoisting the cup back to Vancouver, winning the Conn Smythe Trophy and the Western Conference in 1994 only to loose a great series in a Stanely Cup Finals for the ages.  Many fans and hockey experts maintain the squad on the ice in 1994 was the best ever to don the Canuck jersey.

The 1994 squad enjoyed such names as Pavel Bure.  Bure came on slowly in the first have of the season but blew the doors open in the second have with a 40 goals in 42 games stretch earning him player of the month honors in March of 1994.  Bure took the scoring title at season’s end toping the amazing summit of 60 goals for the second time in his career.  His marked speed, indescribable stick work and deceptively fast wrist shot made him a legend in hockey and his 1994 Canucks team a contender.  The Canucks won in a historical first round series with Bure scoring the series ending goal off Mike Vernon.  From there the team's magic continued in Game 5 as Bure scored the goal sending them on to the next step.  All-Star Greg Adams took the reigns as the hero with a rebound shot in game 6 and pushed the Canucks to the Finals.
