Team Information
Tampa Bay Buccaneers tickets have always been a showcase for great defensive play. 2006 Tampa Bay Buccaneers tickets will again deliver the “D’, but the new year should bring some additional firepower on offense. After getting a taste of the NFL Playoffs in 2005, and suffering a stunning defeat at the hands of the Washington redskins, the tempestuous Jon Gruden is looking to take his anger out on the rest of the NFC South and nothing will do but a spot in Super Bowl XLI in Miami. Don’t doubt it; this Bucs team is ready to roll through the NFL. If you want to see it in person, better get your Buccaneers tickets early.
With the emphasis on defense it’s hard not to notice that Monte Kiffin’s gang is getting a little long in the tooth. But there’s still plenty of firepower there and the key players aren’t showing any signs of age. Simeon rice, after 10 years in the league, is still a playmaker. The defensive end racked up 14 sacks in 2005, good enough to rank 3rd in the NFL. The Bucs also tapped nose tackle Chris Hovan in the free agent market to shore up the inside of the line. Derrick Brooks, 11 years out of Florida State, is so intent on winning another Super Bowl ring he restructured his contract to give the team room under the salary cap. Shelton Quarles has been a solid force from the middle linebacker position but he’ll have a hard time keeping 2005 2nd round draft choice Barrett Ruud off the field. The competition gets even tougher between strong side linebacker Ryan Nece and Jamie Winborn, brought in from Jacksonville as a free agent. Gruden has a linebacker corps that’s talented and deep, a good problem to have. In the secondary Ronde Barber returns along with Brian Kelly, both capable coverage players. Youth was injected with the drafting of Penn State’s Alan Zemaitis.
Buccaneers ticket holders should be pleasantly surprised by the offense. Chris Simms is firmly entrenched as the starter at quarterback but he’ll be pushed by Bruce Gradkowski, only a 6th round pick, but a guy that Gruden really likes. Simms completed over 60% of his passes last season and threw for 10 touchdowns. More importantly, Simms dominated the NFC South with a 5-1 performance. If you want to make the playoffs you have to start with your division and Simms did just that. Running back ‘Cadillac” Williams announced his presence in 2005 by notching 434 yards in the first three games. He’ll have a little tougher time in 2006 when teams gear up to stop him, but greater experience should allow him to keep his game at a high level. Wide receiver Michael Clayton experienced a severe drop-off from his rookie season but should recover from injury and combine with Joey Galloway to give the Buccaneers a dangerous combination at wideout.
Raymond James Stadium and Tampa Bay Buccaneers tickets are an irresistible combination for NFL fans. Jon Gruden, who’s already wearing a Super Bowl ring, wants another one. Now that’s he’s put his stamp on the Buccaneers, it’s very likely he’ll get a chance to win one in Miami at Super Bowl XLI. It’s going to be an interesting trip so get on board the bus with 2006 Tampa Bay Buccaneers tickets.
