Team Information
Once again fans in the Windy City are enjoying their Chicago Bears tickets. Under Lovie Smith the Bears have regained their fearsome defensive personality and will be wreaking havoc on the rest of the NFC North, not to mention the rest of the NFL. The great thing about the 2006 Chicago Bears is that they return most of the starters that made the 2005 version successful. The faithful Bears fans in Chicago will almost certainly get to see their Bears tickets yielding the chance to buy NFL Playoff tickets.
Any discussion of the Bears has to start with the defense. The heart of the team, the Bears defense kept half of their opponents under 10 points in 2005 while six of those teams never found the end zone at all. Additionally, Soldier Field has become a nightmare for opposing offenses. Chicago gave up only 61 points at home, the lowest total since the NFL went a 16 game schedule in 1978. The focal point of this defense is linebacker Brian Urlacher. Urlacher is entering his 7th season and he’s been to the Pro Bowl five times. Ranging from one end of the field to the other, the 6’ 4” 258 pound product out of New Mexico totaled 171 tackles last year and consistently makes the spectacular play when need. He’s also effective as a pass rusher and seems to lift the entire defense when he’s on the field.
Up front the Bears are as strong as any team in the NFL. Adewale Ogunleye contributed 10 sacks and was in Hawaii for the Pro Bowl along with his bookend teammate Alex Brown who had six sacks himself. Another Pro Bowler mans the inside of the Bears defensive line. Tommie Harris went to Hawaii for the first time after the 2005 season and he teams up with Ian Scott to give Chicago superior run stopping ability. But if the Bears are weak anywhere it’s in the secondary. Carolina’s Steve Smith may have exposed that with his performance in the Panthers 29-21 playoff win at Soldier Field. Nathan Vasher is a good cornerback but Charles Tillman needs to improve. Lovie Smith improved the situation by signing free agent Ricky Manning and taking Daniel Manning to upgrade the play at the safety position.
If you’ve been holding Chicago Bears tickets over the last few years you’re familiar with the scenario at quarterback. Once again Rex Grossman is coming back from an injury, penciled in as the starter. Grossman has a quick release, can read a defense, and has good leadership qualities. The big question is if he can stay on the field. If not, Lovie Smith assured himself a quality backup by signing Brian Griese. Griese has proven he can win in the NFL and Smith should breathe easier with him on the roster.
Chicago Bears tickets are primed and ready to deliver another NFC North title in the 2006 NFL season. Faced with three teams in the division under the guidance of new coaches and armed with the NFL’s most potent defense, the Bears are a shoe-in for a winning season and a trip the NFL Playoffs. The road to the NFC North Championship goes through Soldier Field once again and making the trip takes just one thing: Chicago Bears tickets.
