Denver Broncos Team Info

This year's Broncos will deliver the big-time, bone-crushing hits that make football fans go wild. Denver has transformed Invesco Field at Mile High into the set of a horror movie, starring an evil linebacker corps that loves to feast on unsuspecting prey coming across the middle. The hard-hitting defense came up big in 2005, leading the Broncos to an AFC West crown and an appearance in the AFC Championship Game, where they would succumb to the eventual Super Bowl champion. Head coach Mike Shanahan will be looking to take that next step this season.

As fantastic as the Broncos' linebackers are, the Denver secondary is just as good. Led by perennial cornerback Champ Bailey and veteran safety John Lynch, Denver's secondary tormented quarterbacks and simply destroyed receivers who dared to make a play over the middle. Bailey's interception and 99-yard return of a Tom Brady pass helped Denver eliminate the two-time defending Super Bowl champions in the divisional round of the Playoffs. The defensive line also played a major role in the Broncos' success on defense last year.

The offense, with the addition of wide receiver Javon Walker, is not too shabby either. But as Shanahan knows, the Broncos' way to the top, lies in the defense's hands. That's a scary thought for opposing offenses that have the unfortunate pleasure of facing them. If crushing, jarring tackles are your thing, then so are the Broncos.
