Will the Cardinal faithful be dancing at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis, the site of this year’s Final Four? It won’t be easy, but Stanford’s always a threat to crash the part. You find yourself in the middle of one of college basketball’s best atmospheres with Stanford Cardinal tickets. But hurry, Stanford Cardinal basketball tickets are going fast and Maples Pavilion is rocking as one of the most dominant programs of the last two decades continues to roll. Success is expected at Stanford, and the senior trio of forward Matt Haryasz, guard Dan Grunfeld and guard Chris Hernandez is delivering on a nightly basis.
All-Americans regularly emerge from the Cardinal program. The list includes Brevin Knight, Mark Madsen, Casey Jacobsen, Adam Keefe, Todd Lichti and Jarron and Jason Collins, most of whom went on to NBA fame. Now Head Coach Trent Johnson is picking up where the legendary Mike Montgomery left off. In 16 wonderful seasons at Stanford, Montgomery led the Cardinal to the postseason 14 times, including 10 NCAA trips. In 1997-98, Stanford advanced to the Final Four for the first time in 56 years. Montgomery collected 339 wins during his tenure, making him the winningest Cardinal coach of all time. Johnson, a Stanford assistant from 1996-99 before he revived the Nevada program, was a perfect choice to succeed Montgomery in May 2004.
In Johnson's first season on The Farm, he showed his leadership ability as the Cardinal dealt with a season-ending injury to its leading scorer and had only nine healthy players available by the end of the campaign. Somehow, Johnson guided the Cardinal to its 11th straight NCAA Tournament berth with an 18-13 overall record, 11-7 in the Pac-10. Chris Hernandez and Dan Grunfeld were named to the all-conference first team, and Matt Haryasz received honorable mention. Johnson took over the Cardinal program after leading Nevada to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time in that school's history. And he's brought similar excitement to Stanford. In January 2006, the Cardinal pulled off a thrilling overtime win over then-No. 10 Washington as Hernandez hit seven late free throws. Jubilant students charged the court after the final buzzer sounded.
With the talented trio of seniors determined to cement their legacy, with Johnson working his magic on the bench, Pac-10 opponents like Cal, UCLA and Arizona are in trouble. Maples Pavilion is the place to be. Get your Stanford Cardinal basketball tickets now.
