Team Information
As far as North Carolina basketball fans are concerned, Wolfpack tickets are the only ACC ticket to own in 2005-06. The Wolfpack is benefiting from flying under the radar, and could steal enough games to sneak ahead of their three other in-state rivals. The main reason the Wolfpack shouldn’t be taken lightly is Julius Hodge. Hodge turned away from the NBA Draft in order to return to NC State and is off to another great season leading the Wolfpack. Coach Herb Sendeck is hard at work surrounding Hodge with exceptional players to make NC State’s game even more valuable. Ilian Evtimov and Cameron Bennerman are perfect at offense and guard, but fans are flocking to UNC buying Wolfpack basketball tickets to watch Andrew Breckman, just the freshman they need to amp up their inside presence surrounding Hodge.
As a senior, Hodge was named to the All-Rolls Royce team and according to the media he was the equivalent of a first-team preseason All-American. His junior year was impressive as he was named the 2004 ACC Player-of-the-Year, a first-team All-ACC choice for the second year in a row. He is only the 11th player in NC State’s history to earn multiple all-conference accolades. Also named to the list of 20 finalists for the Wooden Award as well as being a finalist for the Rupp Award. He led to Wolfpack in points, rebounds and assists, giving him the best ranking in the ACC. He currently leads all active ACC players in career Player-of-the-Week awards and ranks in at an impressive 1,463 career points. He now has 548 career rebounds and constantly scores in the double figures in nearly every single game he plays.
Of course North Carolina couldn’t succeed without their leader, Coach Sendek. In his first season with the Wolfpack, they won 17 games and posted the program’s first winning record in six years, they showed the resolve and training of a true championship team and advanced to the finals of the ACC tournaments, not to mention earning a spot in the NIT. The staggering run to the ACC Tournament championship game had formerly discouraged NC State fans turning their heads in awe. Upsetting all odds, the Wolfpack pulled off upsets of Duke and Maryland, before taking on in-state rivals, the Tar Heels. Sendek continued his drive toward excellence and eventually won his 100th game at NC State in 2002, earning the title of NABC District 5 Coach of the YHear and was a finalist for the prestigious Naismith Coach of the Year Award, not to mention being selected as the ACC Coach of the Year. With over 148 career wins at NC State, Sendek ranks 18th in the history of the ACC and among current league coaches, comes behind only Mike Krzyewski of Duke and Gary Williams of Maryland.
With such a rich history of victory, North Carolina Wolfpack tickets are getting harder to come by every day. Join the throngs of NC State fans as they fill Reynolds Coliseum and get in on all the ACC action you can stand with North Carolina State Wolfpack basketball tickets.
