Team Information
Boston College Eagles tickets are soaring again in this 2005-06 season. By winning 115 games and three conference titles in the past five seasons, members of the press and fans alike expect greatness from this impressive team. After a solid history of playing Big East teams, Boston is entering a new era of excellence in joining the Atlantic Coast Conference. Some fans worry about the transition by the Eagles, but the team and coach aren’t too concerned. The switch to the ACC will be helped along by Boston’s four returning starters. After being one of the top schools in the Big East Conference, the Eagles are breaking into the ACC with a history of credibility, not to mention a star team this year.
Senior forward, Craig Smith and Junior forward, Jared Dudley are expected to be the players the 2005-06 team is going to revolve around. Smith and Dudley are both returning to Boston after winning All-Big East first-team honors last season as well as being considered to be among the top 50 players in the entire United States. Dudley, a constant favorite, has yet to miss a game in his first two seasons playing for the Eagles and no less is expected of him this year.
Smith, only missing one game in three seasons, is entering his final year playing for Boston with an impressive 1,716 career points and 775 rebounds, ranking in the top 10 for the Eagles in scoring on both charts.
Dudley, an unexpectedly strong recruit of the 2003-04 season, continues to play well as he rakes in the accolades. Adding to his All-Rookie honors, Dudley averaged 17.9 points and 8.0 rebounds per game last year, which earned him a share of the Most Improved Player award. As a newcomer in 2003, Dudley was first overlooked for his undersized appearance, but made it perfectly clear that he could battle with the best of Boston as his career with the Eagles has exploded
Dudley and Smith aren’t alone in displaying excellence on the court; they have a strong backcourt represented in Senior Louis Hinnant and Junior Sean Marshall. Marshall has started every game in his first two seasons with the Eagles and combined, the two have made 150 starts in the past three seasons. Hinnant is the leader on the court for Boston and his steady presence is respected not only by the team, but the coaches as well.
In addition to the well-established returning upperclassmen, Boston is grooming the next set of court leaders in their three sophomores: Akida McLain, John Oates and Sean Williams, who holds the honor of being named the 2004-05 Big East All-Rookie. Three freshmen round out the court this season in Evean Neisler, Marquez Haynes and Tyrese Rice.
The Boston Eagles continue to be a favorite throughout the nation as fans of the Big East and ACC alike are eager to get their hands on Boston College Eagles basketball tickets. This team has always made a solid stance on the court and we expect no less than legendary greatness from them this 2005-06 season.
