Even these setbacks could no delay the excitement of NASCAR, and the speedway reopened in time for the following Nextel race.

Despite the young driver's solid performance in the past, Greg Biffle looks to improve upon his third-place finish in 2005 in his pursuit of the Nextel Cup. In addition to Biffle, Tony Stewart, last year's Nextel Champion, and Dale Earnhardt, Jr., looking to rebound from a relatively dismal season, have both seen recent success at the event, and either could emerge as the driver to beat in Atlanta.
