Ford 400 Information
Ford 400 tickets. Just saying the words should send chills up the spine of NASCAR lovers. It's the end of the line and in the Ford 400 the NASCAR Nextel Cup will be won or lost. In 2006, make plans on being at the Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 19th to witness for yourself the end of the season and the race that brings the Nextel Cup home for good. With it's inception in 1999, the Ford 400 has grown in favor with NASCAR fans by leaps and bounds. The Ford 400 took a major leap in popularity when it became the last race of the NASCAR season, meaning the results of the race had a major impact on the Nextel Cup standings. Its reputation as a top tier NASCAR event was cemented in 2004 when multiple lead changes kept the final standings in the Nextel Cup Championships in doubt until the final minutes when Kurt Busch clung to a meager 8 point lead to claim the cup over runner-up Jimmie Johnson.
If any one driver can now claim to be the favorite for the Ford 400 it has to be Greg Biffle who seems to be right at home on the Homestaed-Miami track. Biffle, who claimed a win in the race in 2004, returned to the winners circle in 2005. Running neck and neck with Mark Martin over the last few miles of the race, Biffle managed to pull ahead by the narrowest of margins to cross the finish line and secure his 2nd consecutive Ford 400 win.
Biffle got his start by taking the wheel in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and claiming Rookie of the Year honors in 1998. By 2000, Busch was the Craftsman Truck Series Champion. A mere two years later, the engineering graduate would win Championships in both the Craftsman Truck and Busch Series. That same year he racked up his first Nextel Cup Series win by claiming the flag at Daytona. In 2003, Biffle added to his legend by winning 5 of the first 15 races he entered. He fell just short of a NASCAR Nextel Cup Championship though, losing to Tony Stewart by a mere 35 points. Heading into 2006 Biffle looks like a major contender.
Ford 400 tickets are one of the premiere tickets in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series. The extra drama of Biffle's dominance in the Ford 400 only adds to the luster of the event. If Biffle is anywhere close to the top in the Nextel Cup point standings, NASCAR fans know he'll be a good shot to win the Ford 400 and propel himself to the top of the heap. But he'll have to contend with a slew of NASCAR's top drivers to get there. Regardless of the outcome, Ford 400 tickets will be one of the most highly prized NASCAR tickets around.
