Banquet 400 Information
Banquet 400 tickets are a sure fire bet to light the plains of Kansas on fire come October 1st, 2006. The Banquet 400, held at the Kansas Speedway, is one of the more important NASCAR Nextel Cup Series races, coming early in the Race for the Chase for the Nextel Cup. By this time the final 10 drivers have been decided and the racing begins in earnest. It's still early in the Chase, so almost any driver can still make a good run at the Nextel Championship. The uncertainty surrounding who'll win the Cup makes Banquet 400 tickets one of the hotter items on the NASCAR menu.
The Kansa Motor Speedway offers 267 laps around its 1.5 mile track. That's 267 laps of the best drivers in NASCAR desperate to gain an advantage on the competition. This late in the season, there are no more friends on the track, just enemies. The Kansas Motor Speedway offers plenty of opportunities for battle. The long stretches of over 2,000 feet each give the drivers plenty of room to gain speed and tear into the banked turns. And at Kansas Motor Speedway NASCAR drivers hit those turns hard. When the car regains the track, it's full throttle till the next turn. On this very track, Mark Martin turned in a 180.856 qualifying run. That's blazing speed. The 2005 Banquet 400 saw Mark Martin take the checkered flag. Martin led the pack for 139 laps and took control in the last half of the race. His decision to change only two tires late in the race allowed him to maintain his frontrunner position and hold off his nearest competitor. Martin's teammate Greg Biffle took second place and Carl Edwards notched 3rd. Most importantly, Tony Stewart captured the 4th spot to maintain his leading position in the Nextel Cup point standings. Banquet 400 tickets are the real thing. There aren't many events that can match a NASCAR race for sheer excitement, but when you throw in the long season and the anticipation of the Nextel Cup Championship looming over the track, then things get really exciting. By the time the 2005 Banquet 400 was done, Tony Stewart had secured a 75 point lead over Ryan Newman, but Newman, Greg Biffle, Rusty Wallace, and Jimmie Johnson were bunched into a tight pack with only 17 points separating them. Should Stewart slip in just one race, the Nextel Cup would be open for anyone to claim. That's what's hanging in the balance at every Banquet 400 and that's what makes Banquet 400 tickets one of the most sought after NASCAR tickets of the year.
