Mets home game tickets are available for Shea Stadium, the 57,405 seat Corona, New York stadium that was host to the first half of the historic double header between the Yankees and Mets on July 8, 2000. Shea Stadium wasn't the host for the second half of the game which was played that night at Yankee Stadium.

The New York Mets are ready to bounce back from their tie for third in the National League East division last year, and are raring to go this season. With a new starting lineup, seats will undoubtedly go fast. Picking up both rookies and trades, the Mets are confident that this year will see them to a postseason run. New Manager Willie Randolph and General Manager Omar Minaya entered the 2005 season with two new key players. Both Pedro Martinez and Carlos Beltran were picked up through free agency by the Mets with hopes that they would improve the lineup and rotation.
Known as the Mets biggest downfall in the 2005 season, they signed star closer Billy Wagner who is known for his consistency to try and fix the problem. Also on the radar is promising infielder David Wright who averaged .306 in 2005. Outfielder Cliff Floyd also got another taste of his glory days, reaching a career high in homeruns. Although the Mets won the National League Pennant in 2000 and a division championship in 1988 it has been 20 years since they brought a World Series title back. Constantly overshadowed by their city rivals, the Mets have been trying to prove themselves as the number one team since they got into the league.
Now the Mets prepare for the 2006 season with newly acquired left handed slugger Carlos Delgado who is known for his power at the bat. He, along with catcher Paul Lo Duca, were both traded from Florida during salary reduction initiatives. Pitcher Pedro Martinez is the starring returning player on the Mets lineup. Second year manager Willie Randolph, a former player, has high hopes for all these players, but also especially shortstop Jose Reyes. With the new excitement these players will bring to the team’s game, Mets seats are a must on any baseball fan’s agenda.
