The Cubs have lacked a strong leadoff hitter for the last few years and Pierre should fit the bill nicely, giving the Cubs the chance to play small ball with greater effectiveness. Pierre is a nice compliment to Derrek Lee, whose .335 batting average and 46 home runs earned him an NL batting crown.
Cubs games are always a favorite with MLB fans. There’s just something about the Cubs that touches something in baseball fans. With the recent trend toward long suffering fans being rewarded with World Series trips, the Cubs faithful can take hope.
