Blue Jays home game tickets are available for the Rogers Centre in Toronto, a luxurious stadium with facilities that are totally unique to the stadium. Toronto's baseball team, the Blue Jays, have had it tough. First, they have to contend with being in the AL East where NY has dominated for so long that they ship the pennant to them before the season even starts. Then Blue Jays fans had to sit back and watch the Sox rise like a Phoenix from the ashes and win the World Series in 2004. Playing in what may be the toughest division in the MLB the jays certainly have their work cut out for them in the 2006 MLB season but don’t count the Birds out just yet. GM J.P. Ricciardi had the purse strings loosened in the offseason. That allowed him to get some help on the mound by signing A. J Burnett away from Florida as a free agent and further strengthen his bullpen with B.J Ryan, another free agent from Baltimore. Ricciardi then traded for 3rd baseman Troy Glaus and 1st baseman Lyle Overbay to improve both his defense and his offense. Both can add firepower to the Jays offense and both are improvements in the infield.
Jays player, Glaus brings an element of power that also features Vernon Wells and Shea Hillenbrand. Glaus’s style allows him to place the ball in any field, while still putting out his share of home runs. He can be streaky though and the jays will need him to be more consistent. Overbay slipped slightly in 2005, hitting .276, but he can bring runners home hitting into the gaps, something he does very well and the Jays have been lacking. Wells and Hillenbrand should both benefit from the presence of the newcomers, giving the Jays a respectable stable of hitters.
With Jays Burnett joining Roy Halladay in the rotation the Jays can field a formidable tandem. This is a team that lost 21 games after producing five or more runs. Stronger pitching will put some of those losses into the win column and in a division that features the some of the strongest franchises, Jays attendees will be enjoying every opportunity to lay one on their AL East rivals.
