Cleveland Indians Team Info

The Indians prove there is more than rock and roll in Cleveland. While the city’s baseball franchise has been somewhat inconsistent over the past decade, Indians game remain some of the most sought-after seats in professional baseball. 2011 looks promising for the Indians after starting the season at just above the .500 mark. Led by the strong bat of designated hitter Travis Haffner, fans in Ohio should expect the Indians to put on an offensive exhibition.

While the Indians made five consecutive trips to the postseason in the latter half of the 1990s. Indians fans have not celebrated a World Series Championship since 1948. In fact, the franchise missed the postseason from 1954 to 1995. However, the team’s recent history has been much brighter. The run in the 1990s offered Indians fans the chance to see one of the game’s most talented infield lineups, which featured shortstop Omar Vizquel, second baseman Roberto Alomar, and first baseman Jim Thome.

This year’s squad looks to be another potent scoring attack, leading the majors in runs at the early point in the 2011 season. Head coach Eric Wedge hopes to continue to mold his lineup into a contender for the team’s first American League Pennant since 1997. If the team can bolster its starting rotation, expect Indians fans to celebrate the homecoming of outstanding baseball on the shore of Lake Erie.
