Chicago White Sox Team Info

The drought is over. The White Sox claimed their first World Series victory since 1917 in 2005. After suffering all those years it looks like the White Sox are going to repay their fans loyalty with a long stay at the top of the MLB charts for the foreseeable future. In fact, they may be on the road to the World Series for a long time to come and White Sox game tickets the surest bet to see a World Series contender for the next few years.

You’d think the White Sox would have been content to rest on their laurels after a 99 win season in 2005 that culminated in winning baseballs’ greatest prize. But think again. The White Sox showed that they are determined to stay on top in the AL Central, carefully dipping into the free agent pool to keep things humming. First the Sox tabbed Jim Thome. The 14 year veteran, who’s logged time in several major league cities, was brought on board to strengthen the DH spot, making up for the loss of Aaron Rowand.

On offense the White Sox have a solid lineup, especially in the middle. With Jermaine Dye, Konerko, and now Thome keeping pitchers honest the Sox should continue putting up good numbers. Scott Podsednick is strong in the leadoff spot, hitting .290 in 2005, while stealing 59 bases and crossing the plate 80 times. While the lineup doesn’t feature any .300+ hitters, the White Sox don’t have any glaring weak spots in their batting order and fans can expect someone to come through on any given day.
