The clock is ticking on your chance to reserve 2007 FedEx Orange Bowl tickets. College football's elite teams are beginning to align, and the BCS Bowl Championship Series is rounding into form. In the 2005 Orange Bowl, Pete Carroll's USC Trojans solidified their status as college football's modern day dynasty by whipping up on the Oklahoma Sooners, 55-19. Which team will make its mark on history at Dolphin Stadium this season? Will the Miami Hurricanes be staying home for the holidays? Or will fans of the Ohio State Buckeyes be lining up for Orange Bowl tickets? No matter which teams earn the right to play for the Orange Bowl trophy, the pageantry, festivities and football frenzy that will take place in the first week of January make Miami's Dolphin Stadium the place to be. January 3 will be here before you know it, so reserve your 2007 Orange Bowl tickets today.
Since 1935, when Bucknell knocked off Miami in the first Orange Bowl, South Florida has played host to some of the most historic match-ups and dynamic players the college football nation has ever seen. At the 2000 Orange Bowl, future NFL stars Tom Brady of Michigan and Shaun Alexander of Alabama collided in an epic battle of two of the more storied programs in college football. Alexander would run for two scores, but Brady would counter with three touchdown passes, and the Wolverines prevailed 35-34 in overtime. In recent years, Dolphin Stadium has been the place to see Heisman Trophy winners square off. Four Heisman candidates met at Dolphin Stadium for the 2005 Orange Bowl. USC's Matt Leinart proved worthy of taking home the bronze statue by tossing a record five touchdown passes in the Trojans' rout of the Oklahoma Sooners and their Heisman Trophy winner, quarterback Jason White. In the backfield with White was freshman sensation Adrian Peterson, a finalist for the Heisman Trophy in 2005. Joining Leinart in the Trojan backfield was yet another Heisman candidate in Reggie Bush, who, along with Leinart, is in the running for this year's Heisman Trophy as college football's best player.
The 2001 FedEx Orange Bowl also saw a pair of Heisman Trophy caliber quarterbacks do battle at Dolphin Stadium. Florida State's Chris Weinke beat out Oklahoma's Josh Heupel in the Heisman race, but the Sooner hero would have his revenge on the field. Led by a fierce defense, Oklahoma shut down Weinke and the Seminoles' high-octane attack to win the BCS National Championship.
2007 Orange Bowl tickets promise to reward college football fans with the same kind of pageantry and excitement that has been associated with the annual event in Miami since 1935. From parades to festivals, beautiful South Beach will be rocking come January 3. College football fans from across the nation will be scrambling for Orange Bowl tickets, before packing into Dolphins Stadium to see two of the nation's top ranked teams do battle and make history. While the game itself has been moved from its normal New Year's Day slot to January 3, the party won't be tempered. So don't wait: Reserve your 2007 FedEx Orange Bowl tickets today.
