Event Information
LeAnn Rimes, born on August 28, 1982, in Jackson, Mississippi, grew up in music and was one of the youngest stars in country music history. Rimes grew up in Garland, Texas, and was performing in local talent contests and auditions before she was ten. She released her first album on an independent label at the age of 11 and around the same time, she met a Dallas DJ and record producer named Bill Mack.
Mack came up with a plan to help Rimes break into the mainstream country and pop scene but it would take some time before he felt Rimes was truly ready for the attention she was likely to receive. Rimes gained more experience in 1995 when, as a 13 year old, she toured the state of Texas and performed more than 100 concerts and shows. While it seems like Rimes has had a lengthy and productive career, a statement few could argue, most forget she’s only in her 20s and is still motivated to do what she does best. While she could easily retire today and live a comfortable life for years and years, it’s not what she’s about. Her number one focus, even to this day, is to give music to those that still appreciate her work and until the day comes where her heart isn’t in it, it’s hard to imagine her leaving to do anything else.
