Event Information
Kenny Chesney, born on March 26, 1968, in Knoxville, Tennessee, is one of the biggest acts in country music at the moment, but it certainly took him a little longer to experience the success of many of his contemporaries. Chesney grew up listening to many genres of music such as country and rock and roll but didn’t get into playing music seriously until he was in college at East Tennessee State University. As a Christmas present, he received a guitar and immediately became hooked on playing and writing his own music.
The 2002 release of “No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem” helped Chesney garner another number one album on the country charts and four more top ten singles. Chesney recently teamed up with Uncle Kracker and released “When The Sun Goes Down,” a song that would earn him the award for“Album of the Year” from the Country Music Association. He also won Entertainer of the Year in 2004 and in a somewhat brief music career, he has already compiled two gold albums, two platinum albums, a double-platinum album, two triple-platinum albums, and a quadruple-platinum album.
