Keeping It Freaky With Lady Gaga

The entertainment industry is full of characters that are amazing at drawing attention to themselves. One of the most skilled entertainers that knows exactly how to get that attention is Lady Gaga. Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta was born in New York City in March of 1986. She has become one of the most popular music recording artists of the decade, creating and singing under her stage name: Lady Gaga.

Germanotta was raised in NYC and attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts until she withdrew from her classes to focus on her career. Her first shows were in Manhattan's Lower East Side to those that followed the rock music scene. In 2007 she signed with the record label Streamline Records where she mainly worked as a songwriter until Akon signed her to Kon Live Distribution.

Germanotta's first album as Lady Gaga was released in 2008. The Fame was a huge success both according to critics and by commercial sales and gave birth to 2 number one singles "Poker Face" and "Just Dance."
