Team Information and History

The entire state of Oregon is sick with hoops fever. The Ducks are quacking and the rivals are chewing up the Pac 10. But it’s rough sledding in a conference that features fierce contenders. Grab some tickets and see the Oregon squads try to jump to the top of the Pac 10.

Oregon Ducks basketball tickets are sizzling as fans clamor to get inside cozy McArthur Court, better known as "The Pit." Head Coach Ernie Kent's Ducks, led by sophomore sensation Malik Hairston, have turned McArthur Court in Eugene into a place opponents dread visiting. Fans speak of the facility, with its tripledecked, classic pavilion, with unmatched reverence. When the Ducks play, you can stand outside and hear the roar of the crowd from more than 9,000 boisterous fans. But inside is the place to be. The Ducks, known in recent years for their run-and-gun style, have produced scintillating talents such as Luke Jackson, Luke Ridnour and Freddie Jones. Sophomore Malik Hairston, a 6-6 guard, is picking up right where they left off, making Oregon Ducks game tickets a hot commodity. Now in his ninth year, Head Coach Ernie Kent has produced stunning accomplishments, including five postseason appearances, a title, a Tournament title, a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight and two NIT Final Fours.

Kent is the only Oregon coach to have led the Ducks to three Tourney appearances. He is the only coach to take his team to the Elite Eight this decade. Just as important, the Ducks have dominated rivals under his tenure. It's no surprise that Oregon averages almost 20 wins a season. A former player at Oregon, he became the first African-American head coach in the history of the school when he was hired in 1997. He has a strong passion for the program that has captured the community.

The magical season of 2001-02 cemented that bond, as the Ducks won their first outright league title since 1938-39. The Ducks finished the season unbeaten at home. The arena is pulsating again this year as Hairston, guards Aaron Brooks and Bryce Taylor, and bruising forward Ivan Johnson lead the Ducks into the battle.
